With the unique active complex of Arctic marine microorganisms, cucumber extract, vitamins, and natural moisturizers, it protects the skin from digital pollution (blue light = Blue Light Protection), has an anti-irritant effect, and provides visible skin tightening. It gently cares for the skin, leaving it soft and supple without greasiness.

Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract

PSEUDOALTERONOMAS FERMENT EXTRACT (marine bacteria) is an active ingredient for intensive wrinkle smoothing and firming. Arctalis™ is a marine active ingredient that stimulates collagen and elastin production with a high content of proteins and exopolysaccharides (EPS). These have the ability to form a film and increase essential extracellular matrix components and desmoglein-3 (Dsg-3). It strengthens the structural integrity and flexibility of the skin and enhances epidermal cohesion and barrier function. Arctalis™ restores natural moisture while simultaneously protecting the skin from digital pollution (blue light = Blue Light Protection).

Cucumber Extract

CUCUMBER EXTRACT refreshes tired eyes, cools, and reduces swelling, and has a cleansing effect that is also suitable for sensitive skin. It has soothing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-itch properties and serves as an intense moisturizer for dry skin. It has a revitalizing, rejuvenating, and skin-tightening effect, providing a fresh appearance. Due to its astringent properties, it is also suitable for oily skin.

Allantoin

ALLANTOIN is a metabolic product that occurs naturally in horse chestnut bark, wheat germ, and comfrey. It has cell-regenerating properties, soothes skin irritations, and gives the skin a healthy and soft appearance.

Complex of plant-based Xylitol and Glucose

XYLIT is derived from wood and GLUCOSE from wheat; both sugars harmonize the skin's water balance, and an optimum level of moisture is stored in the skin. At the same time, their barrier function is strengthened by an increase in the skin's natural production of ceramides, reducing moisture loss (TEWL) and making the skin more resilient to environmental influences. This leads to a visible improvement in appearance. The skin surface, wrinkles, and lines are immediately smoothed, it feels more supple and looks fresher. This effect occurs immediately after application and lasts for a longer time.

Provitamin B5

PROVITAMIN B5 has anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties. The natural moisturizing factor can be well stored in the skin, stimulates skin renewal, promotes the growth of skin cells, and supports skin regeneration.

Skin-identical Glycerin

HAUTIDENTES GLYCERIN as a plant-based raw material with good moisturizing properties is an optimal humectant for the skin and provides intense hydration. It is part of the skin's natural hydro-lipid film and can reduce transepidermal water loss, i.e., the evaporation of water from the skin.

Sorbit and Xylitol

SORBIT is a 6-valent sugar alcohol that, due to its hygroscopic properties, is a very good moisturizer for the skin. XYLITOL stimulates lactate production as part of the skin's natural moisturizing factors, improves skin moisture, and helps maintain it in the skin. It contributes to preserving the physiological pH level and the microbiome diversity of the skin and protects the skin barrier.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cream is not absorbing properly. What can I do?

If the skin becomes increasingly flaky and rough with age, feels dry again immediately despite frequent moisturizing, and the skin cream does not absorb, we would recommend a peeling. This allows the top layer of skin, i.e., the dead skin flakes that still lie on the skin's surface like small "roof tiles," to be gently removed. The dead skin cells only superficially absorb the care product, and the moisture evaporates immediately. Thus, the skin cream does not penetrate the skin at all. A gentle peeling helps to dissolve the blocking "roof tiles," making the skin more receptive to care, smoother, and more even. This way, the moisturizing serum or moisturizer can optimally penetrate the skin and unfold its effect. For this, either a good enzyme peeling (for example, the SKINUANCE ENZYME CLEANSER & PEELING) or a mild fruit acid cream (FRUIT ACID CREAM) is suitable.

Why doesn't SKINUANCE use UV filters in their day creams?

SKINUANCE therefore does not use UV filters in its day care because we pursue the approach of concentrating and minimizing our formulations to the essentials. This means that we use few but highly concentrated active ingredients. At the same time, we avoid additives that are not absolutely necessary. This also applies to UV filters. The daily use of UV filters with facial care would mean a permanent penetration of the skin with filters, even if one is, for example, not exposed to the sun at all or only briefly during the lunch break. For a short time, we also recommend conscious sun exposure to absorb vitamin D. The burden of filters can lead to allergies and resistances. In the worst case, one may eventually not be able to tolerate any UV filters at all. Therefore, we recommend supplementing your favorite care as needed and precisely with a sun protection (for example with the SKINUANCE SUN DEFENCE 50+) or applying it over/under the day care.

What skincare can I use after laser treatments, chemical peels, and aesthetic procedures?

After laser treatments, chemical peels, and aesthetic procedures, we recommend rather sensitive and soothing care products and creams and serums that optimally accompany and support the effect of the procedure:

What is the suitable facial care for couperose? What should I pay attention to with couperose?

The characteristics of couperose are enlarged blood vessels and reddened, dry skin, as well as increased sensitivity. The skin barrier is compromised, and the skin is more prone to irritations. Therefore, products for skincare for couperose should not contain stimulating active ingredients. Caffeine, for example, is considered stimulating and could potentially exacerbate the redness.

For facial care for couperose, we recommend skincare products that are rather sensitive and soothing, which do not contain irritating fragrances, strong preservatives, or harsh surfactants.

However, a mild fruit acid cream (SKINUANCE FRUIT ACID CREAM) is also effective, providing very nice results for couperose. It works very gently, makes the skin more resilient over time, soothes irritations, and repairs the skin barrier. However, this is individually dependent on the sensation. Often, the feeling of slight warmth and possible brief light redness in couperose is already perceived as uncomfortable.

Contributing factors also include lifestyle and diet. For example, abstaining from alcohol, spicy, irritating spices, coffee and tea, and strong temperature changes mitigates the effects of couperose.

What can I do for sensitive and dry skin in winter?

When the skin is dry, especially sensitive, red, and irritated in winter, one can take "anti-frost" measures for the skin. At +8 °C, our sebaceous glands produce significantly fewer skin-own lipids. Therefore, skincare in the colder season should generally be much richer, meaning it should contain more oils. Water-in-oil emulsions are the right way to go here. They seal and protect the skin, keep out the cold, and prevent skin moisture from evaporating, thus keeping the skin from becoming dry. Too light or watery creams "freeze" on the skin's surface. A layering method would be particularly suitable for winter skincare, i.e., after thorough cleansing, apply one to two deeply penetrating serums in succession and then seal them in with a rich cream. At least one serum should also contain very intense moisture, ideally with varying lengths of hyaluronic acid chains that penetrate the different layers of skin and hydrate them very intensely and long-lasting.
