Anti-Aging and Sun Protection – Effectively Protecting Facial Skin
The sun is good for the body, mind, and soul. It boosts mood and vitamin D levels. However, too much sun can have negative effects on the skin. Sunburn and premature skin aging, along with an increased risk of skin cancer, are possible consequences of UV radiation. Only the right sun care can prevent this.

Sun protection and Vitamin D
You probably know this: As soon as the first rays of sunshine appear after the darker season, mood improves. We actually need the sun to survive. It is now known that sunlight can even be helpful for winter depression. With sunlight, the serotonin level, the "happiness hormone," increases.
Our body needs the sun to produce vitamin D. It is an essential vitamin for strong bones, teeth, and a healthy immune system. It is enough to sit in the sun for about 15 to 20 minutes with bare arms and legs.

What negative effects can UV radiation have?
UVA radiation accounts for about 90 to 95% of the UV radiation that reaches the Earth. It can cause changes in the dermis and long-term damage. But UVB radiation also leads to sun damage to the skin.
Sunburn: In the case of a sunburn, UV rays damage the genetic material of skin cells. The cells destroy themselves, leading to inflammatory reactions of the skin. After-sun care, for example with retinol or ectoin, is beneficial for sun-stressed skin. Every sunburn also increases the risk of developing skin cancer over the course of a lifetime.
Sun allergy: Itchy spots and small reddish pimples characterize a sun allergy. They also arise from inflammatory processes of the skin.
Pigmentation disorders: UV rays stimulate the production of melanin. This brown pigment naturally protects the cells from the sun. In the case of hyperpigmentation or so-called pigment spots, the production of melanin is irregular. Various colored spots appear on the skin. A high sun protection factor and antioxidants can help prevent pigment spots.

Sun care for beautiful skin
Facial sunscreen should have a particularly high sun protection factor. The skin on the face is very sensitive to UV radiation.
Important: Sunscreen protects not only in bright sunshine. Even on cloudy days, the sky allows invisible radiation to pass through – summer and winter. Therefore, protect yourself from UV radiation to avoid long-term sun damage. Did you know, for example, that even oily skin, which is prone to blemishes, needs special protection from UV radiation?
