Skin-identical geranylgeranylisopropanol and geranylgeranyl phosphate

GERANYLGERANYLISOPROPANOL is a derivative of the naturally occurring geranylgeranyl phosphate in cells and a key molecule for cell functionality. Oxidative stress is limited, as is the shortening of telomeres, thus preserving the cell's ability to divide. The synthesis of structural components of the skin – such as collagen and hyaluronic acid – is stimulated. The youthfulness of the skin can thus be maintained.

GERANYLGERANYLPHOSPHATE has an important and positive influence on cell activity. It serves as a lipophilic anchor molecule for proteins, transmitting important signals into the cell membrane. If these proteins are absent from the membrane, the attached growth factors have no effect on the cell, ultimately leading to apoptosis (cell death).

Ectoin

LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT HYALURONIC ACID (Molecular weight approx. 10,000 – 50,000 Dalton) has an extremely low molecular weight, which allows it to be quickly absorbed by the skin. It plays a very important role in cell regulation and cell communication. Skin renewal is stimulated, and skin regeneration is promoted. At the same time, it contributes to the firming of the upper skin layer. The improved lipid barrier reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL). This helps maintain the suppleness and elasticity of the skin.
