The deep-cleansing DEEP CLEANSING FOAM reduces impurities and gently frees the skin from dirt particles and makeup. The light exfoliation effect stimulates skin renewal, removes dead skin flakes, and smooths the skin surface. The skin texture and pores are refined. The skin is supplied with refreshing moisture and retains its own moisture. Redness and irritation are reduced, and the acid mantle is kept intact.

Glycolic acid

GLYCOLIC ACID is the most effective alpha-hydroxy acid (fruit acid) and has keratolytic and activating properties. The gentle biological peeling effect stimulates skin renewal and improves the skin's water-binding capacity. The skin surface is smoothed, and the complexion appears fresher.

Salicylic acid

SALICYLIC ACID is commonly found in nature, e.g., in willow bark, and has the property of dissolving small keratinizations and flakes. This gives the skin a clear, refined, and beautiful appearance.

Betaine

BETAIN has moisturizing, soothing, and water-binding properties. In cleansing products with AHAs, betaine (due to the acidic environment in the product) can protect the skin from irritation caused by the surfactants. Like Ectoin, it belongs to the cosmetic osmoprotectants and is used as a hydrating active ingredient.

Cocoamphodiacetate

COCOAMPHODIACETATE is a surfactant of plant origin and provides gentle cleansing.

Vitamin E

VITAMIN E smooths the skin's relief, improves the hydration of the epidermis, and enhances the binding of water in the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and stimulates cell regeneration. Skin damage, e.g., from UV radiation (sunburn), can be reduced as a result. It is a lipophilic (fat-soluble) vitamin that has a strong antioxidant effect by binding oxygen atoms of free radicals and slowing down oxidation processes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cream is not absorbing properly. What can I do?

If the skin becomes increasingly scaly and rough with age, feels dry again immediately despite frequent moisturizing, and the skin cream does not absorb, we would recommend a peeling. This way, the top layer of dead skin, i.e., the dead skin flakes that still lie on the skin surface like small "roof tiles," can be gently removed. The dead skin cells only superficially absorb the care product, and the moisture evaporates immediately. The skin cream does not even penetrate the skin. Through a gentle peeling, the blocking "roof tiles" dissolve, and the skin becomes more receptive to care, smoother, and more even. This allows the moisture serum or moisture care to optimally penetrate the skin and unfold its effect. For this, either a good enzyme peeling (for example, the SKINUANCE ENZYME CLEANSER & PEELING) or a mild fruit acid cream (FRUIT ACID CREAM) is suitable.

Why doesn't SKINUANCE use UV filters in their day creams?

SKINUANCE therefore does not use UV filters in the day care because we pursue the approach of concentrating and minimizing our formulations to the essentials. This means that we use few but highly concentrated active ingredients. At the same time, we forgo additives that are not absolutely necessary. This also applies to UV filters. The daily application of UV filters with facial care would mean a permanent penetration of the skin with filters, even if one is, for example, not exposed to the sun at all or only briefly during the lunch break. For a short time, we also recommend conscious sun exposure to absorb vitamin D. The burden of filters can lead to allergies and resistances. In the worst case, one may eventually not be able to tolerate any UV filters at all. We therefore recommend supplementing your favorite care as needed and precisely with a sun protection (for example with the SKINUANCE SUN DEFENCE 50+) or applying it over / under the day care.

What skincare can I use after laser treatments, chemical peels, and aesthetic procedures?

After laser treatments, chemical peels, and aesthetic procedures, we recommend rather sensitive and soothing care products and creams and serums that optimally accompany and support the effect of the procedure:

What is the suitable facial care for couperose? What should I pay attention to with couperose?

The characteristics of couperose are enlarged blood vessels and reddened, dry skin, as well as increased sensitivity. The skin barrier is compromised, and the skin is more prone to irritations. Therefore, products for skincare for couperose should not contain stimulating active ingredients. Caffeine, for example, is considered stimulating and could potentially exacerbate the redness.

For facial care for couperose, we recommend skincare products that are rather sensitive and soothing, which do not contain irritating fragrances, strong preservatives, or harsh surfactants.

However, a mild fruit acid cream (SKINUANCE FRUIT ACID CREAM) is also effective, providing very nice results for couperose. It works very gently, makes the skin more resilient over time, soothes irritations, and repairs the skin barrier. However, this is individually dependent on the sensation. Often, the feeling of slight warmth and possible brief light redness in couperose is already perceived as uncomfortable.

Contributing factors also include lifestyle and diet. For example, abstaining from alcohol, spicy, irritating spices, coffee and tea, and strong temperature changes mitigates the effects of couperose.

What can I do for sensitive and dry skin in winter?

When in winter the skin is dry, particularly sensitive, reddened, and irritated, one can take "anti-frost" measures for the skin. At +8 °C, our sebaceous glands produce significantly less skin's own lipids. Therefore, skincare in the colder season should generally be much richer, meaning it should contain more oils. Water-in-oil emulsions are the right way to go here. They seal and protect the skin, keep out the cold, and prevent skin moisture from evaporating, thus keeping the skin from becoming dry. Too light or watery creams "freeze" on the skin's surface. A layering method would be particularly suitable for winter skincare, i.e., after thorough cleansing, apply one to two deeply penetrating serums in succession and then seal them in with a rich cream. At least one serum should also contain very intense moisture, ideally with varying lengths of hyaluronic acid chains that penetrate into the different layers of the skin and hydrate them very intensely and long-lasting.
