SKIN-IDENTICAL COLLAGEN

Natural, insoluble collagen fibers form a barrier film on the skin and act as a transport system. They contain soluble collagen molecules and collagen peptides.

Collagen molecules have an extremely high water-binding capacity and strengthen the skin's moisture retention ability. They support the smoothing of lines and wrinkles, visibly plump up, reduce redness, and promote an even complexion.

Skin-identical collagen peptides can penetrate deeper into the skin due to their significantly smaller molecular size. They promote skin renewal by positively influencing signaling cascades for collagen synthesis, tissue remodeling, and tissue regeneration.

BAICALIN

The extract supports moisture retention in the skin and improves barrier function. It promotes collagen synthesis, improves skin elasticity, and reduces lines and wrinkles. It protects the skin from oxidative stress and environmental damage, prevents premature skin aging, and promotes healthier skin. It reduces redness, swelling, and skin irritation and has a soothing effect. Baicalin delays cell aging and keeps skin cells younger longer. RESVERATROL

The plant-based anti-aging power ingredient primarily acts as a strong antioxidant. It neutralizes free radicals caused by sun exposure, pollutants, or stress that can cause cell damage. Resveratrol protects the skin and helps slow premature skin aging while keeping skin cells healthy. Grape seed extract reduces redness and impurities and promotes collagen formation in the skin. Collagen is crucial for firmness and elasticity in the skin and contributes to an even, youthful complexion.

The powerful active ingredient strengthens the skin barrier, supports regeneration, and helps the skin become more resilient against external influences.

SKIN-IDENTICAL HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid occurs in various sizes (low molecular weight and high molecular weight) almost everywhere in the human body. Fifty percent of the body's own hyaluronic acid is found in the skin. The hyaluronic acid content decreases with age. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for the skin's moisture and elasticity and contributes to a revitalized and youthful complexion. It smooths lines, plumps the skin, and improves the skin's appearance.

APPLE STEM CELL EXTRACT

Apple stem cell extract activates cell renewal and extends the lifespan of the skin's stem cells for lasting rejuvenation.

GLYCERIN

Glycerin, as a plant-based raw material, ensures good and lasting hydration of the skin. It acts hygroscopically, actively attracting water and binding it in the skin. As part of the skin's hydro-lipid film, it can reduce transepidermal water loss (protection against evaporation).

SKIN-IDENTICAL LECITHIN

Skin-identical lecithin is also referred to as phospholipids, is part of the cell membranes and the skin's hydro-lipid film. Phospholipids can regenerate the skin barrier and thus improve the skin's elasticity and moisture retention capacity.

Frequently asked questions

My cream is not absorbing properly. What can I do?

If the skin becomes increasingly flaky and rough with age, feels dry again immediately despite frequent moisturizing, tightens, and the skin cream does not absorb, we would recommend a peeling. This way, the top horny layer, i.e., the dead skin flakes that still lie like small "roof tiles" on the skin surface, can be gently removed. The dead skin cells only superficially absorb the care product, and the moisture evaporates immediately again. The skin cream does not penetrate the skin at all. Through a gentle peeling, the blocking "roof tiles" dissolve, and the skin becomes more receptive to care, smoother, and more even. This allows the moisture serum or moisturizing care to optimally penetrate the skin and unfold its effect there. For this purpose, either a good enzyme peeling (for example, the SKINUANCE ENZYME CLEANSER & PEELING) or a mild fruit acid cream (FRUIT ACID CREAM) is suitable.

Why doesn't SKINUANCE use UV filters in their day creams?

SKINUANCE therefore does not use UV filters in daily care because we follow the approach of concentrating and minimizing our formulations to the essentials. This means that we use few but highly concentrated active ingredients. At the same time, we avoid additives that are not absolutely necessary. This also applies to UV filters. The daily use of UV filters with facial care would mean a permanent penetration of the skin with filters, even if, for example, one is not exposed to the sun or only briefly during the lunch break. For a short time, we also consciously recommend sun exposure to absorb vitamin D. Allergies and resistances can develop due to the burden of filters. In the worst case, one may eventually not tolerate UV filters at all. We therefore recommend supplementing your favorite care as needed and precisely with sun protection (for example with SKINUANCE SUN DEFENCE 50+) or applying it over/under the daily care.

What skincare can I use after laser treatments, chemical peels, and aesthetic procedures?

After laser treatments, chemical peels, and aesthetic procedures, we recommend rather sensitive and soothing care products and creams and serums that optimally accompany and support the effect of the procedure:

It is important not to apply the products on damaged skin; for this, there are medications.

What is the suitable facial care for couperose? What should I pay attention to with couperose?

The characteristics of couperose are enlarged blood vessels and reddened, dry skin, as well as increased sensitivity. The skin barrier is compromised, and the skin is more prone to irritations. Therefore, products for skincare for couperose should not contain stimulating active ingredients. Caffeine, for example, is considered stimulating and could potentially exacerbate the redness.

For facial care for couperose, we recommend skincare products that are rather sensitive and soothing, which do not contain irritating fragrances, strong preservatives, or harsh surfactants.

However, a mild fruit acid cream (SKINUANCE FRUIT ACID CREAM) is also effective, providing very nice results for couperose. It works very gently, makes the skin more resilient over time, soothes irritations, and repairs the skin barrier. However, this is individually dependent on the sensation. Often, the feeling of slight warmth and possible brief light redness in couperose is already perceived as uncomfortable.

Contributing factors also include lifestyle and diet. For example, abstaining from alcohol, spicy, irritating spices, coffee and tea, and strong temperature changes mitigates the effects of couperose.

What can I do for sensitive and dry skin in winter?

When the skin is dry, especially sensitive, red, and irritated in winter, "anti-frost" measures can be taken for the skin. At +8 °C, our sebaceous glands produce significantly fewer natural skin lipids. Therefore, skincare in the colder season should generally be much richer, meaning it should contain more oils. Water-in-oil emulsions are the right approach here. They seal and protect the skin, keep out the cold, and prevent skin moisture from evaporating, thus preventing the skin from becoming dry. Too light or watery creams "freeze" on the main surface. A layering method would be particularly suitable for winter skincare, i.e., after thorough cleansing, apply one to two deep-acting serums consecutively and then lock and seal them in the skin with a rich moisturizer. At least one serum should also contain very intensive moisture, ideally with hyaluronic acid chains of varying lengths that penetrate different skin layers and hydrate them very intensively and long-lastingly.
